Bag, Bag, More Bags

Here are more bags!! I have been busy making over them. I re-sized the Eco green bags, the big one. These are smaller. Smaller but still have big room for carrying stuffs for you. I made a small bag for them this time. It turns out more neat and lovely.

I do love bags, boxes and baskets, any sizes, any materials. Just can't stop to make more and more. You also can use them to organize your house. Usually don't worry about get dirty. If so, I will just through into laundry.

These are my favorite fabric - Olivia piglet. She is such a lovely girl. Especially her red dress. There are more will come. They will be posted my Etsy shop later.

I Hear Bird Singing....

Trying to pick a big snow block

It's February but I hear bird singing this morning. A little weir.... Usually they won't come back so early. Still cold here although it is sunny today. I keep looking where are they but still can't see one.

Many Glacier Park - It is still very deep

I love birds. They are just like a flying angel. I like summer time they build nest under the roof edge. Watching them working. Busy for in and out. It could take me long time to watch them. I know some people don't like it. Sometime they break their nest, try to kick them out, because they are noisy sometimes. I don't care they are noisy at daytime because I know it is sunny shine if they are singing.

Where are you, Bird?

Happy Anniversary!

t has been four of year today. Time fly so fast. It is like just a glance. :) February is our big month. Me and my hobby's birthday, anniversary and my father-in-law's birthday are all in this month.

This is first time I try to make a cake for our Anniversary. I am not good in baking although I love to. Most of time I failed. Couple of experiences made me feel very frustrated so I did not bake often. However, this time I think it turns out very good - soft and consistency. Look still not very good because it cracked in the top surface. I don't why!?? I still glad to make it for our anniversary.

I found this recipe in the Hershey's Kitchens website - Easy Chocolate Layer Cake. One of reason I use this recipe because I out of my milk ^____________^ ||| So I need to find some recipe which does not need milk. Also, just like the name "Easy". I love easy!

Below is the recipe for you if you want to make one. When I melted chocolate bar, I boiled a pot of hot water, put chocolate bar on the top of hot water with a classes bowl. I think this way should be better. I tried to use microwave, it took longer time and did not look right (to me!) Also I put the wrong one wrong ingredient - "baking power!!!". I should put baking soda, but I put baking power for mistake. I was so panic because I don't know how can I to fix it. Anyway, it's like nothing happened. :) Lucky me!!

:: Easy Chocolate Layer Cake from Hershey's Kitchens

- 2 packages (4 oz. each) - Hershey's special dark chocolate premium baking bar, broken into pieces.

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans; line bottoms with wax paper.

2. Place chocolate in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at Medium (50%) 1 - 1/2 to 2 minutes or until chocolate is melted; cool slightly.

3. Stir together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add melted chocolate, water, oil vinegar and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer until well blended. Pour into prepared pans.

4. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cook completely. Frost as desired. 10 to 12 servings.

When I finished the making, I could not off my eyes on her. She was my FIRST doll. First time I design and create her. I am such a bad person I think. How can I sold her out. She was my "First" doll. I think I will make another one because I really miss her. Though, it will not be the FIRST one anymore.

Happy Valentines day Annie!

Mushroom Pin Cushion Tutorial

{ Eco Green Job }

I think this pin cushion will be part of green job for our earth. :) It made from bottle cap and some scrap fabrics. I collect a lot of caps, from small size to large size. For this tutorial, I use 1 1/8 inches caps. You can get those caps from water bottles, Coca-Cola bottles or some pop bottles, from regular size to large size. If you use large size caps, you will need to enlarge the size of circle fabric from my pattern. They turns out very beautiful one and use them everyday, if you do sewing. :) They are just so lovely. Once you make one, you will not want to stop making more and more. Let's start it.

+ Scrap fabrics
+ Caps (1 1/8 inches)
+ Polyester fiberfill
+ Permanent Double Sided Tape
+ Thread and Needle

Before you begin to make it, download the patterns file HERE. Then trace and cut out all patterns from light weight cardboard, make templates of all pattern pieces.

Step 1: - Trace Circle 1, Circle 2 and Rectangle shape pattern to fabric. Draw a circle on the middle of 2 3/4 inches diameter circle fabric (Circle 1). This will be the first layer.

Making First Layer
Step2: - Stick permanent double sided tape around outside of cap. Averagely cut the lines along the edge of circle.

Step 3 - Wrap the fabric circle to the cap. This layer is for covering the color of cap so you can use some scrap fabric.

Making 2nd layer

Step4: Turn the two side of edges of rectangle shape fabric 1/4 inches. Iron the edges for easily to handle.

Step 5: Wrap this fabric around the cap, then use two pins to fix the edge for easily to sew along the edge.

Step 6: Along the edge, sew 2nd layer of fabric with first layer. So you will not see the color and texture of the cap.

Step 7: After you done this step, fold the top edge into the cap.

Making mushroom head
Step 8-9:
Run a gathering thread 1/4 inches from raw edge along 4 inches diameter circle fabric (Circle 2).

Step 10:
Stuff with Polyester fiberfill firmly. Pull gathers tightly around the edge and knot. Then along the edge, sew mushroom head and the cap together.

Now you done your "green job" great!! The more caps you collect, the more pin cushion you can make. You can also put them together in a box or basket. They will look great. Or you can glue a magnet on the button of them. Or make a loop to wear it on your wrist. Imaginations are endless!!

You can also make it with your kids. Just use glue gun instead of sewing. Though you still need to make mushroom head for them.

Eco Green Bag

Eco Green Bag! They are not green always! :) They are very handy. When you go errand or shopping, before you use them, you can roll them up and put them into your bag. They are light and strong. I love every one of them. I especially love wide-eyed girl, the yellow and blue one. It is so lovely, is not it! Those fabrics are from Japan's artist. Sometime I think I don't do so much for saving our earth. Just do our best. :)
